The first human experiments with the ketogenic diet were conducted in two children with brain cancer. Both children responded well to the high-fat diet. When Nebeling last got in contact with the patients' parents in 2005, a decade after her study, one of the subjects was still alive and still on a high-fat diet.

I think the diet is a brilliant idea. Too bad the researchers only get the people that are in really bad shape and have no other treatment options.
One of the most accepted concepts with regards to cancer is that sugar feeds tumors. So it is imperative that people manage their blood sugar if they have cancer. Drinking pop and eating sweets, or carbs, causes the blood sugar to rise and cancer to grow. I've read that some cancer researchers think that cancer is simply a fungus. The best way to kill a fungus is to starve it - remove it's food, sugar. The Body Ecology Diet is an anti-yeast diet, so, who knows, it may be good for cancer too.
