Jenny McCarthy's latest book Mother Warriors
Maybe you've seen Jenny McCarthy on Oprah, or on ABC's 20/20, or on Good Morning America, or on The View. If you haven't, there's still a chance to see her on Larry King on Wednesday, September 26th at 9:00pm Eastern Time.

Jenny McCarthy wrote a book about her experience with an autistic son and what they did to reverse it: Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism
I would highly recommend this book, especially if you want to be inspired by what can happen when you use diet/nutrition to treat autism.
If you don't need convincing that diet can help reverse autism, but you want to start with the most effective autism diet, then skip the GFCF diet and pick up a copy of the book Gut and Psychology Syndrome and put your child (and family!) on the GAPS Diet.
There are many factors in using diet to treat autism. It basically boils down to this:
- The gut is damaged, and really needs to be healed.
- Elimination diets like gluten-free / casein-free diet (GFCF) can alleviate the symptoms.
- Other dietary interventions can allow the gut to heal, like the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) or the Body Ecology Diet (BED) or the GAPS Diet.
- Enzymes can assist during this process of healing the gut (and minimizing negative impact of certain foods).
- Probiotics are essential for all cases of autism. These can be consumed both as supplements and as food. Bio-Kult is a therapeutic grade probiotic.
- Raw butter is one of the key fats to help heal the gut.
- Cod liver oil is another key fat - it contains the essential fatty acids for the brain, plus fat soluble vitamins A and D.
- Lastly, it's important to minimize any food that has additives, preservatives, sugar, artificial flavors and/or colors. Organic is good. Locally produced real food is best.

I am so glad that someone is finally speaking out about how diet is a factor in autism on a national show. I did a slightly different approach then her but I agree with her line of thinking. I hope that by her speaking out that more parents will get on board. I also hope that doctors will start to sit up and take notice!
Totally out of the left field. Who did the research? Jim Carey, maybe.
I was glad she at least mentioned the gut once when she was on Larry King. Hopefully she goes into that line of thought in more detail in her book.
It was also great to hear her dish out the details on the greatly increased number of shots that toddlers are being given by well meaning doctors. In addition to the higher frequency itself creating a more harmful situation, it must also be pointed out that the chemical cocktails contained in those shots is different than it was in the "good old days." So don't be fooled by older people who say "I had lots of shots as a younin, shots didn't bother me none!" Well sure Paps, the contents of your shots were different, they had different agents in them.
Also let's not forget about the whole multiple vial issue.
It's great to see a celebrity, especially an attractive one, get involved in such an issue. As they say, T&A sells, and if it's selling HEALTH for once, then that is completely and totally awesome.
What they need now is a RESPECTED actor to join in. We have the T&A, now we need someone like Tom Hanks to hop on board.
Are you kidding me Tebby? Why is she any less respected just cause she is pretty. Get a life and crawl out of the rock you been living under!
Sorry meant Jebby!
