FDA Busted! Poisoned Children with Toxic Mercury Fillings

The FDA has now been forced to acknowledge a fact so fundamental that, by any measure of honest science, it should have adopted the position decades ago. What position is that? Simply that mercury is toxic to humans.

My Comment:

Mercury fillings, aka silver amalgam fillings, have never been tested for safety. When 1976 legislation required the FDA to classify all medical and dental devices, the agency "grandfathered" its approval of amalgam fillings under the GRAS (generally recognized as safe) category.

In the 1980's, the Environmental Protection Agency fined a group of dentists for the improper disposal of amalgam fillings. The EPA views silver dental fillings as a hazardous substance because they contain mercury. In fact, over 70 million tons of mercury is used annually in dentistry. And you though the mercury in your CFL bulbs were dangerous.

Now the FDA statement on mercury filling is:
"Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetus."

Somebody from the FDA should call the ADA (American Dental Association).

The ADA has this statement on their website:
"Dental amalgam has been studied and reviewed extensively, and has established a record of safety and effectiveness."

What should you do?

Don't replace mercury fillings (or get new ones) when you are pregnant. The process of drilling out old fillings releases mercury vapors and can do serious damage to you and your unborn child.
