An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday. The parents told investigators their daughter last saw a doctor when she was 3 to get some shots, Vergin said. The girl's death remains under investigation and the findings will be forwarded to the district attorney to review for possible charges, the chief said.

My Comment:
I wonder if the district attorney will also review possible charges against the last doctor the girl saw. Juvenile-Onset diabetes is associated with vaccinations.

Glass baby bottles make a comeback
Meg Robustelli had heard reports that a chemical in most plastic baby bottles could be dangerous, but she had not done anything about it. That's when her mother stepped in and bought her glass bottles.
"She's an alarmist, but I'm grateful," said Robustelli, whose daughter, Mia, is 14 months old. "I switched because of all the concerns about the plastic."
She made the change about six months ago, becoming one of a relatively small but growing number of parents turning to glass bottles amid concerns over a chemical used to make plastic bottles, bisphenol A.
"I wish I was using glass from the beginning, so I could have avoided any exposure," said Robustelli, of Stamford, Conn.
Bisphenol A, or BPA, is a manmade chemical used in polycarbonate plastic, the material used to make most baby bottles and other shatterproof plastic food containers. Americans are widely exposed to BPA, but opinions on its safety are mixed....

My Comment:
Some people may debate the danger of plastic, but I think this is a valid concern because babies drink from bottles all day, every day. Warming up the bottles increases the risk that more toxins are released into the milk.
There's simply no reason to use plastic baby bottles.

Autism: Vaccine Compensation Victory
Federal officials say a Georgia girl is entitled to compensation from a federal vaccine injury fund because she developed autism-like symptoms after receiving childhood vaccines in 2000. The government has not said that childhood vaccines cause autism; rather, officials conclude that the vaccines given to the girl in 2000 aggravated a pre-existing condition -- a mitochondrial disorder -- that then manifested as a regressive neurological disease with some symptoms of autism spectrum disorder.

My Comment:
I am surprised by this news. I am happy for the little girl, Hannah, and her family. Not that this will reverse the damage caused by vaccines, but at least the compensation will help ease the financial burden.
For years, thousands of kids have been injured by vaccines, but have been denied compensation. The federal vaccine injury fund was designed to compensate for the damage (or death) of children caused by vaccines. However, most families have found it near impossible to be compensated.
Here's the government's description of the fund:
Over the past 12 years, the VICP has succeeded in providing a less adversarial, less expensive and less time-consuming system of recovery than the traditional tort system that governs medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability cases. More than 1,500 people have been paid in excess of $1.18 billion since the inception of the program in 1988.
The VICP fund has over $2.5 billion dollars in it and each year another $90 million gets added to it. Here's another article about autism, vaccines and the vaccine injury compensation fund.
PS - It makes me laugh when the government indicates that Hannah developed "autism-like" symptoms. Does it really matter to her or her family whether it's "autism" or "autism-like" symptoms??? (Of course it matters to the government what you call it).
